March 9 2017 - What Are We Doing In Class Today?

Find 2 more sites that are offering internships in the Cyber/Computer/Networking for the summer.  10 pints extra creadit if they are local companies
Turn in to Jupiter
Class Agenda:
  • Entry Ticket -30 min Entry and Jupiter
  • Python lesson 10 tuples -

  • Kali Linux - Ethical Hacking - continue work on this for 20 min.  Take Notes, and turn in to Jupiter and overview of what you study today. What do I expect?

    • 1st Draft of your presentation - 6-10 slides of what you are doing and how to demo it to every one else.  I want to see a slide draft, so an out line of the slides

March 8 2017 - What Are We Doing In Class Today?

Entrance Ticket -Kali Linux - Ethical Hacking - continue work on this for 20 min.  Take Notes, and turn in to Jupiter and overview of what you study today. What do I expect?
    • For a "C" I'm expecting a short overview of each module you do.  
    • For a "B", I'm expecting to describe how this can be applied to what we are learning in class.  
    • For a "A", I want to see an example of what you learned, maybe some code, or screen shot of you implementing what you have learned and how it applies to Cyber Security

March 7 2017 - What Are We Doing In Class Today?

      Turn in what module you worked on and what Quiz you took
Class Agenda:
  • Entry Ticket -20 min
  • What happens when our computers get smarter than we are? 
  • Cyber Pirates - VM Ware Project (see this link for additional project instructions)
    • Get into your teams
    • Each team member will install a OS.  Pick, Windows (Win7 or  Win10), Ubuntu, and then any other OS image.  Floating around on USB sticks and drives are ISO images that have been downloaded for you. 
  •  Hardware Projects  - This will be a team based project, that will include the following:
    • Project proposal - due today
    • Project progress report - Detailed what you need to do, and steps needed to do it
    • 2nd week Presentation
    • 3rd Week Final Presentation and Lab / Demo
    • Final Report

March 6 2017 - What Are We Doing In Class Today?

Entrance Ticket -The rise of the useless class
Read and contemplate this future and answer these questions:
  1. Write 50 words on what you though about this article, and how to solve some of the problems it presents? Then specifically answer the following questions.
  2. What jobs should be safe from robots and algorithms? 
  3. What will  robots and algorithms do when they become sentient?
  4. Politically, how do you fix the problem that people may not have the skills to be very employable, but still need to eat and have health insurance?
Turn in to Jupiter

  2. What does "Buying Some Time" do for you?
  3. Why might not getting the right answer be OK?
  4. What are the following 2 questions designed to do? Why do potential employers ask them?
  5. "How many happy birthday posts do you think Facebook gets in one day?" 
  6. "If you are in a boat with a boulder and you drop that boulder into the lake, how does the water level before and after you drop the boulder in the lake compare?" 
  7. What is the risk to the potential employer when they ask these types of "curve-ball" questions?
